So where are AMALGAMATED going to find the 30% savings that they promised the contractors?
Also ask Amalgamated if their medical coverage includes retirees,
How are you going to feel when you retire with no medical, no pension because some gangster lawyer promised you that he was on your side.
If the rate is $84.49 an hour, and the cost to contractors is to be reduced by 30%, the $25.50 is going to have to be cut from somewhere.
Welfare could be cut by $5 to $6 an hour  if you dump the retirees without impacting the coverage you would get when you are working of course the number of participants in the amalgamated will be small so that will increase costs, so this could be a wash.
No pension saves another $13.31
No supplemental pension is another dollar.
No Vacation is another $7.38
Add in the 38 cents that goes to labor managment and the UBC and you get $22.07.
So there are going to have to be more cuts than above or maybe the welfare can cut the additional  $3.43 needed for the 30% savings to contractors.

Re: WAGE CHART

Concerned
They will get the 30% from cutting the fat of the UBC appointees and bloated budget of the NYCDCC. Do you really think that the NYCDCC is spending your money economicly, or wisely. You are being ripped off on a grand scale by the UBC and your untouchable appointed leaders. Look at all the high salaries and just show no work jobs. And it is going to continue as you see there is another position just crerated assistant EST. More money blown without the memberships input or vote. It will business as usual with the UBC at the NYCDCC, spend ,spend, spend, and no way for the membership to control it. Amalgamated will be able to control all costs and the 30% savings will be easily done by removing the UBC from the equasion. No more wasted money for Amalgamated. The members of the UBC will also face more and more asssesments as the UBC will try to squeeze as much money out of the membership as possible. The UBC can do this as the membership has no say, whereas Amalgamated's membership can control every dime spent. Amalgamated , the better choice.
