DISSIDENT
bullshit there should be a informational  meeting set up specifically for the review of the contract. it is total bullshit that you have to come to 395 and read it. the members should have the meeting and review the contract and then suggest changes that benefit the membership not the contractor. the problem is that these contracts are being negotiated without any member input. the people who are negotiating these contracts are not interacting with the membership to procure what the will of the majority of the rank and file want in their contracts.

Unfortunatly everytime you let the membership get involved in the nuts and bolts of the contract everyone has something to say. It never works to have the full membership vote.
There has to be certain concessions in order to survive the non union atmosphere we are all in. Go to Jersey and see George Harms driving piles with 2 men No stewards -no union rules no nothing--he is currently the largest contractor in Jersey. PKF is driving sheeting on the NJ Turnpike with 2 men also and there are numerous other contractors who are open shop and getting bigger. The only way to survive is to make the contractor more competitive. A number of large Jersey companies will not even bid if Harms or PKF are on the list. You must have full mobility like it or not or lose everything. The union officers are voted in to represent the men, they have to be trusted. There was just an election if you don't like who won why did the get the votes. As much as people talk about the Harkins regime they at least fought for the working man.

"they have to be trusted." Even when they clearly have lied. WTF are U saying. Trust a liar. Is that what your parents taught you? Is that what gets you through life? Will you accept you kids believing that? Man have some principals & union backbone why don't you.

Yes   If just a month or so ago you elected new officers for 1556 they should be trusted or they should not have been elected. If they are lying then you should work to get them removed. On the NYDCC side if you remember only approx 2200 men out of approx 22,000
voted for the new officers. For any union or voting body to only have 10% of their members vote is a disgrace. We all deserve what we get because nobody cares when it comes to the voting booth. Even with the contract vote only 10% of the members voted.
That really makes us look good

What? They didn't release it 24 hrs. before the vote. There is a God!

But had the heavenly powers that be set up the avenue for you to "democratically" deal w/your delegates?
