Signing the petition will not get you a job

Signing the petition will not get you a job.
Contractors will hire more carpenters and bid more work when carpenters are allowed to shape jobs and not be matched,There are many good carpenters when layed off at the end of a project that will be moved to other jobs. Contractors that communicate with other Contractors will find work for good carpenters instead of losing them. Most good carpenters don't use the list, they network themselves to other carpenters and company's. AND FINALLY THE LAST TIME I CHECKED EVERY (COMPANY MAN) IS A MEMBER OF THE UNITED BROTHERHOOD OF CARPENTERS.

company men shopuld not be members of the u bc they should just be getting prevailing wage

company guys are nothing but nonunion with benes

for the future when picketing nonunion jobs and you offer union cards to the nonunion guys. please explain to them the diff between a company guy and a owl guy and ask them which they want to be

the guys on the owl arent as lucky  to have the connections member has.this really is not right what this guy has said

i thought union was supposed to be about equality

and what really sux is when i run into new jersey guys and long island guys who say they never go on the owl and they are steady working in my own town and i cant get any work

while i was laid off i went to a few pickets and i didnt have to be there because i did my picket duty a while ago

sorry, but you're fucking nuts. The guys who hooked up shouldn't be members? Is that how things are done on the planet caleb these days? No Union/NLRB protections because they kept a job? You're not a real Union man if you think anyone should be excluded!

In town you are an asshole. The unemployable such as yourself should multiple pickets. At least you can contribute there. Walking in a circle, yelling nonsense chants and discussing the benefits of affirmative action with Byron. If you where half the carpenter that you are a dick than maybe someone would have a use for you. Make sense or get the fuck out of town

In town...the problem is you cant get a PAYCHECK....you can get a job but cant keep it....you make a name for yourself in this town and trade when times are busy not when times are slow....when times are busy your lack of work or desire was protected by the 50/50 rule but  no more..Unions are about equality...men get paid the same to do the same amount of work....give the working men and women who are not afraid to work a raise they deserve finally

JJ and Intown you don't get it and you never will, This industry is not complicated,It is competitive whether  you like it or not, Foreman's get praise and any other incentives that come with running a profitable project.(like keep running work). Step 1 show up on time. Step 2 Be better than 50% of the carpenters on the project, sooner or later it will be noticed,Repeat this till you retire, If you have more ambition read the prints every day at lunch and when the opportunity comes up let the foreman know how much you can help the job,Company's are owned by businessman union carpentry job-sites are run by union foreman , and most of them came from the field.

Hey in town--

You are a complete asshole
A company man who belongs to the UBC and his benefits are paid all year round is not only a tribute to the craftsman the local puts out but helps to maintain the welfare fund for those who do not have sufficient hours. There have been company men in this UBC as well as all unions since unions began. You are most likely a lazy piece of shit who gets laid off on every job because who don't know your trade.

While you are laid off you should learn how to spell
