Support what and send what message??Support PLAs? No rank and file worker should support prohibiting your greatest tool in protecting your wages, safety and other rights. The ability to shut it down..What a great example of misdirection and BS..Yes do not go to the 9:30 am Committee on Housing and Buildings meeting show up at 11am. That way the Rank and file and other workers will not hear Crowleys INT.No.744 which is being declared as "A Local Law to amend the administrative code of the city of New York in relation to establishing a prevailing wage requirement for covered workers in financially assisted facilities." But what are you asked to support is the BS exemption in the new proposed change to the Local law which is... Exempt Entities....·... Any person or entity who is a party to a project labor agreement , defined as a pre-hire collective bargaining agreement between an employer in the construction industry and a comprehensive organization of the labor organizations in the construction trades that establishes the terms and conditions of employment for a city development project"...... Are you f ing kidding me. You cant be asking anybody to support Union members or any worker being exempted from prevailing wage on a Project because some Council douche bag signed a PLA with wage concessions and give a ways.Victims of that PLA are exempt from getting Prevailing wage under the new city law. So not only did the Council and UBC sell you out they are trying to claim rank and file members should support a new city law screwing themselves out of Prevailing wage. Stop.. Please.http://legistar.council.nyc.gov/Calendar.aspx Plain Language for Int. No. 744.......Show us any thing being put forth that has to do with PLAs tomorrow at 11am
Richard: 1 . Read the release from the district council.
2 . They (and the other participating unions)
want your body, NOT your opinions.
3 . Arrive early and register to speak on your
own behalf; official spokespersons have not
called for input or opinions.
4 . There has been no official offer of a duty credit.
5 . Have the delegates discussed our participation?
6 . Have the delegates the union's official point of view?
7 . Have the delegates had open discussions at local meetings?
I don't disregard your zeal; please don't assume that others may have a less
vehement agenda. What would you regard as more efficacious:
Starting open discussions among the rank-and-file, or ramming your
opinions down their throats?
HAS THE RALLY BEEN CALLED OFF BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER?
