NYC CARPENTERS IN STRUGGLE... THIS TIME AGAINST THEIR OWN UNION...By JOHN REINMAN

Carpenters in New York City are facing a danger and an opportunity.NYC carpenters contract proposal. It has a   huge concession.

During a nation-wide building boom, the New York Carpenters District Council is proposing a contract with some huge give-aways. Most important, it includes establishing a new classification – “certified journey person”. A journey person would need 10,000 work hours to become “certified” – something that could take close to ten years. Meanwhile, she or he would be making $11.31 per hour less on wages and over $8.00 per hour less contributed to their pension. For apprentices, it’s even worse. The apprentice program would, in effect, be increased for a year (to five years). Meanwhile, they earn almost nothing towards their pension.

CALLING ALL CARPENTERS... DO YOU NEED TO SPEND 10 YEARS OR 10,000 HOURS LINING THE POCKETS OF THE CORRUPT UBC RATS LIKE MCCARRON,CAPELLI OR SPENCER WITH A PIECE OF YOUR PAYCHECK BEFORE SOME UBC LOW LIFE
HACK DECIDES IF YOU ARE A "REAL" CARPENTER

IT TAKES FOUR YEARS FOR AN ALLEGED "REAL" EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION TO CERTIFY YOU AS A TEACHER AND QUALIFIED TO EDUCATE OUR CHILDREN.

THE BUREAU OF LABOR STATISTICS STATES IT TAKES AN ALLEGED "REAL" EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION  SEVEN YEARS TO CERTIFY YOU AS A LAWYER WHO ARGUES CASES THAT SET LEGAL PRECEDENT.

IT TAKES FOUR YEARS FOR AN ALLEGED "REAL" EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION TO CERTIFY YOU AS A REGISTERED NURSE AND QUALIFY A PERSON TO SAVE LIVES.

NOW DIRTY DOUG AND HIS UBC MORONS ARE CLAIMING IT TAKES 10 YEARS OR 10,000 HOURS FOR A UBC MORON TO DECLARE TO EMPLOYERS THAT YOU ARE CERTIFIED TO HANG SHEETROCK,HAMMER A NAIL OR SET SCAFFOLDING. UBC LEADERS ARE NOT APPOINTED FOR THEIR EXPERIENCE IN THE FIELD WORKING WITH TOOLS. THEY ARE NOT APPOINTED FOR THEIR IQ.THEY ARE NOT APPOINTED FOR THEIR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND.

THEY ARE APPOINTED FOR THEIR LOVE OF SMALL UBC PENISES,IGNORANCE, ABILITY TO GROVEL AND WILLINGNESS TO STAB FELLOW UBC MEMBERS IN THE BACK ON COMMAND BY DIRTY DOUG AND HIS CORRUPT CRONIES.THESE ARE THE HACKS THAT WILL DECIDE AFTER 10,000 HOURS IF YOU ARE A REAL CARPENTER???

ARE YOU FRIGGING KIDDING ME

Its about time we start a revolt, the time has come, the struggles continue, its very sad,in the boom times like now we should be all thriving, but neverless, the membership is being sold down the rver fast, its not th membership,it starts will that clown,we call mccarron,he wanted helper appentices, jouneymen at lesser wages, what kind of message are u sending to organized labor,on top of that now all journeymen have to work 10000 hours to become certified journeymen, the same with apprentices have to work 10000 hours. It is wrong and it will not make the members happy, why is it that delegates get a raise, our business agents get a raise, our international gets a raise, and they throw the crumbs at the members,we need to shut all the jobs dowm, and have the biggest protests, until our demands are met,its about time the members have a say,and especially get to vote on the contracts, its a big mess,we are all in troubled times, lets take a stance,if not its a race to the bottomm, mccarron wanted conquer and divide,he sure is getting it,we need to mobilize, educate, agaitate, yell, holler, get it in the media,a damn well fight back,we are being screwed all the way around, enough with this bullshit, its the members move to take back our union, not these clowns.

labor omnia vincit
When members cant take the time to go to the hall and vote these fcking clowns out this is what we get some would say we deserve what we get. So if the members would be proactive and stop voting in UBC / NYCDCC Employees this would be a lot harder to sell. I understand getting in your car or on the train and going home is easier. But ask yourself if a extra half hour of your time is worth it to not have to deal with this SHIT? If this shit passes EVERYONE CALL IN SICK UNTIL THEY FIX IT!!!! Their hgreed will get the best of them. If your not willing to fight you dont deserve the spoils of winning!!!

It's a very sad day with this new contract the council signed,We have been sold out,and on top of the mess we are in,all contributions from the provisional carpenters, and our apprentices will not be enough to fund the pension fund, they will bankrupt us,thanks to the guys drinking the cool aid,and McCarran, the idiot who started it all,he is outfor business agents getting there raises, and his milloin dollar salary's,its criminal what the hell they are doing, its is sending a message to organizef labor, they just do not care, they are out for there agenda, they think it's just a big business enterprise, and they live off our members hard earned money, whay a shame, and what a disgrace, its a slap in the face to all organized labor. On top of lawsuit with the council pending, also alligationsaof bringing members in the union ,by selling them there books, its a very bad,sad situation to the members who worked hard there entired life's and being thrown under the bus,we need to revolt, send a loud clear message, its destroying from with in,everymember should be mad,and demand accountability, transparancy, and the right answers, the time for fighting back is now,i honest to god all members read this and understandwe are under attack, and we need to fight back, shut all the jobs down, and have a citywide strike to get our demands met,no more taking back anymore,we have taken our lumps and concessions, what good did it do us,now they want more concessions,it cannot happen anymore,we need to sound the alarm, and raise hell to the council hacks.

Steward the contractors can never get enough because greed has no satisfaction. You can look to the lay down and die members who wont go on strike and will cross picket lines. The union cant even attract new blood because their so dihonest thta people sense it when they speak with them. The Delegates are sellouts plain and simple. If b y a miracle this union lasts it would be just that a miracle. Thanks for caring steward we are officially dinosaurs.

Lol 608, Wake Up!!! We have been gettin fucked for the last 10 years starting with PLAs. Guys bitch and moan on the job, but won’t go vote. We have a dockbuilder as EST for the last 5 years or so and we can’t even muster up the votes on a mail in ballet to get him out. By the way, Joe is doing a good job for his guys, they received a raise in their 2018 contract with none of this crap the rest of us will deal with. They are a small specialized local whose pay scale due to numbers can be tolerated. Carpenters are idiots, this was preventable, just show up and vote. Once this contract really gets into effect as the same as concrete, this cheap labor will put at least 50% of “certified journeymen” out of work (and that’s with it busy). Will we turn enough jobs over that we will have our current levels of employment for “certified journeymen”? Most carpenters are to stupid to think this far out. Fuck...most can’t lay out a wall. It comes down to member involvement. Fuck your pipe and drums, Latino club, the sisters, fuck your softball teams. The time would have been better spent voting, members have no voice cause they made that decision. More important to catch the 330 train home. That train is about to get real expensive. Let the strong survive! Hopefully we’ll have a pension.

Steward
Wrong, its about every member who cares, and has some balls, this contract will sink us,we need to do better, this contract is about the membership, its about the members, who work everyday with the tools, its not about signalling anybody out,its about every damn one of us,this ship will sink
Fast,if our members take a stand, now, and fight back, half our members are not aware what the hell is going on,every member, through the apprentices,to certified carpenters,to rank and file,to retires need to be aware of the state of affairs we are in,this is a serious matter, that will event evetyone more then u realize,we need answers,we need to mobilize, fight back, allembers need to come together as 1,one union, and demand better, fight bettetband raise hell until our demands of everyone are met, every job should be shut down,we need a city wide strike, even across the country strike, because what ouroleaders are doing is making it worse and worse, and playing into McCarrons games, its not going to work anymore,we sllaneed to revolt and take back our union, itsall up to the members, the future lies in each and everyonesevnature to make it better for our young members coming in,god willingly,in solidarity,a good steward.
